4 Days Wildlife Safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP), takes you to the most visited national park in Uganda. QENP is located at the base of the majestic Rwenzori Mountain range adjacent to Lake Edward and Lake George.  You will have two full days in the park allowing you to see 4 of the members of the big 5 game animals (lion, leopard, buffalo and elephant) as well as numerous primate species and over 600 species of birds. This tour includes tracking radio collared lions in the “Kasenyi planes” and seeking out the famous Ishasha Tree Climbing Lions.  In addition, you will take a boat cruise through Kazinga channel for an unforgettable close-up experience with one of the world’s largest concentrations of hippos, as well as Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffalos and other wildlife along the banks.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will start you trip with a pick up by our driver guide from your hotel after having breakfast, and drive through the roads of Kampala heading west to Queen Elizabeth national park. You will drive through the western route of fort portal and have lunch as you reach the city, and proceed to the park reaching early evening. On arrival, you will check in at your lodge and head for an evening game drive to view some of the game animals like the buffaloes, elephants, antelopes and many others. You then drive back at the lodge for dinner and rest till overnight.

Day 2. Experiential lion tracking and afternoon boat cruise

On this day, after your breakfast, you will head out to the Northern section of the park “Kasenyi planes”. While there, you will interface with the predators under the guidance of a ranger guide and researchers who drive around the park with radiation trackers. These trackers help them to find lions that have radio collars placed around their necks. The lion tracking experience takes about 3 hours and later on, you will return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch.

You will have more than mammals to watch like for example bird species and a few reptiles among others. You will be in line to see animals such African elephant, African buffalo, Antelopes, Ugandan Kobs, hippopotamus, Topis, waterbuck, warthog, giant forest hog, spotted hyena, among many others.

After lunch, you will head to Kazinga channel for a boat cruise. A boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel will offers you one of the greatest wildlife experiences in Africa and Uganda in particular. Expect to see some hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, water birds and many of the other park animals drinking from the channel as you enjoy the boat cruise. You will later return to the lodge with a short evening game drive as you end your day with a sunset view while resting at your accommodation.

Day 3: Ishasha Tree Climbing Lions and community walk

On this exciting day, you will wake up early morning for a short breakfast and drive to the southern sector of the park called Ishasha. This sector is famous for the tree climbing lions and it’s the only place in Uganda where you can see these relaxed predators. These lions spend the day resting in tree branches as they wait for the sun to go down so that they can hunt down their daily meal. You will have this amazing experience and return to the lodge for lunch, after lunch you will head to for a community visit to have a test of the hospitality of the people living in the area. You get to know about their life style and engage in some activities if you get time. You will then drive back to your lodge while capturing some pictures of the beautiful landscape and the animal species you see on your way back. Reaching at the lodge, you will relax and enjoy the ambiance of the place while viewing the game park from an angle. Dinner will be served and rest till the next day.

Day 4: Transfer to Kampala via Masaka-Mbarara Highway

Today you will wake up at a chill with a delicious breakfast at your lodge and check out as you head for Mbarara. As you drive out of the park, you will encounter some animals on the way like Buffaloes, Elephants, antelopes, impalas among others.

After you will depart for Kampala with a stopover at the Equator at Kayabwe for lunch, then proceed to Kampala arriving in the evening at your accommodation or to the airport for your departure
