3 Days Murchison Falls Wildlife Safari takes you to Murchison Falls National Park (MFNP) with a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary allowing you to see to all “the big 5 African game” (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard) animals. You will take numerous game viewing drives through this beautiful landscape as well as a boat cruise along the Nile to the base of Murchison falls, also known as Kabalega Falls, where the Nile forces its way through a gap in the rocks that is only 8 meters wide and tumbles 43 meters before flowing westward into Lake Albert.  On this 3-hour cruise you are likely to see hundreds of hippos as well as elephants, Nile crocodiles and other wildlife along the river banks.  The top of the falls will also be visited on your way out of MFNP.

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls National Park and Ziwa rhino sanctuary.

You will be picked up from the hotel early in the morning after your breakfast and set off for Murchison Falls National Park. On your way to the park, you will branch off to Ziwa rhino sanctuary. In Nakasongola District, near Nakitoma Village is where you will get a moment to track these beautiful animals. The white Rhinos became extinct in Uganda’s national parks in 1980, but conservationists and the government through Uganda wildlife authority took the few that had remained and transferred them to the sanctuary for better protection. There are about 18 rhinos in the sanctuary at the moment and there is a plan to reintroduce them in Uganda’s game parks in the future.

Lunch will be at the sanctuary before proceeding to the Murchison falls national park. Later when you reach your lodge, freshen up, and head for an evening game drive. After seeing the beautiful sunset “sundowner”, you will head back to your lodge for dinner and relaxation till overnight.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and afternoon Boat Cruise

After an early morning cup of hot tea / coffee, you will leave for an early morning game drive looking for the early morning riser.  As you head out for the game drive, you will be in position to spot animals like the buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, Rothschild giraffes, Oribi, Kobs and waterbucks together with some bird species along the way with some feeding together with the big animals.

After you will head back for breakfast and rest at the lodge till lunch is served. In the afternoon you head for a Boat ride along the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls.  This Boat ride on River Nile goes for 3 hours and you will be able to see some Nile crocodiles, numerous hippos, as well as various bird species. You will then return for dinner and the overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Top of the falls visit and transfer to back to Kampala

On this day, you have breakfast and head to the top of the falls where you will view it from above. At the top of Murchison Falls “also known as Kabalega Falls”, the Nile forces its way through a gap in the rocks that is only 8 meters wide, and tumbles 43 meters before flowing westward into Lake Albert. Later you will drive out of the park through the southern gate with a stopover in Masindi town for lunch, and then embark on your journey to back to Kampala reaching in the evening and be dropped at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home.
