Day 1: Exploring Nyungwe Forest
On this early morning, you will start your 2-day Nyungwe Forest tour from Kigali. After your breakfast, drive southwards heading to Nyungwe Forest National Park. You can either drive to the park or take a domestic flight to Kamembe Airport, which is the nearest airport to Nyungwe Forest.
You will arrive in the early afternoon and have Lunch at the Lodge or one of the best restaurants enroute to the park. Enjoy a delicious lunch, with both local and international cuisines.
After your lunch, you will drive straight to the park and begin on your afternoon adventure of sightseeing. Canopy Walk! embark on an exhilarating canopy walk in the Nyungwe Forest Canopy Walkway. This suspension bridge offers breathtaking views of the forest canopy and is a perfect way to start your adventure. While during your canopy walk, you will have endless picture and video moments overlooking the beautiful forest from above.
Nyungwe Forest is also a bird watcher’s paradise, and get your cameras ready to spot some unique bird species like the Rwenzori turaco, great blue turaco, and numerous other colorful birds.
After this day adventure, walk down and get to your safari vehicle as you drive to your lodge for relaxation in the evening and dinner. Later you will have your overnight at your lodge with amazing picture to take back home and everlasting memories.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe Forest and drive back to Kigali.
Today, you will wake up very early in the morning and drive to the park headquarters for a briefing before you start off with your chimpanzee tracking adventure.
Nyungwe Forest is renowned for its chimpanzee population and other primate species alongside some unique bird species. Embark on a guided chimpanzee tracking experience, where you’ll have the chance to see these intelligent primates up close.
The tracking will take between 2 to 6 hours while searching for the chimpanzee. Getting to a chimpanzee family will depend on their last nesting period the previous night. When you get to see a family, you will rest and observe it for an hour as you take endless pictures and videos. After this adventure, you will settle in a safe area within the forest to have your packed lunch or head back for lunch at the lodge.
While heading back to your safari vehicle, expect to see some bird species that live within this beautiful forest.
This will mark the end of your safari in Nyungwe Forest National Park as you drive back to Kigali later in the afternoon. The drive distance is about 6 hours on road, or you may decide to fly to Kigali.
